I've been on a hiatus. But I'm back! I was hearing a lot of fuss about the song Stay performed buy Rihanna and Mikky Ekko. After hearing it on repeat and listening to the lyrics in depth, I thought how great a song it would be if it was sung to God with just a few tweaks. I'm going to trying a break it down, specifically Rihanna's verse. As I listened to the song it reminded me of someone alone talking to God. In my opinion, the lyrical content regards the temptation and failure of finding a true love. Here goes nothing. Stay with me (no pun intended)
All along it was a fever: is that moment in the middle of the night lost in thought. Worried endlessly and hopeless to no end. A cold sweat hot-headed believer: are those tears that soak pillows and waking up boiling from hiding under the covers from troubles. Or feverish because of the many sleepless nights that hinder our immune systems from doing its jobs. I threw my hands in the air and said, "Show me something,": asking God why!? Wondering why is this my life and what did I do to deserve this. Imploring, reasoning and trying to bargain with God answers and a sign that her loves us. He said, "If you dare come a little closer.": then God urging us to come closer to and trust and believe Him, Without a doubt, earnestly and sincere. Round and around and around and around we go Oh now tell me now tell me now tell me now you know: we send ourselves into a whirlwind of emotions still after God dares us to trust Him. God knows if we trust Him we will be fulfilled. Not really sure how to feel about it. Something in the way you move: once you accept God, the feeling is overwhelming. You know by the way His love enters into your life. Makes me feel like I can't live without you. It takes me all the way. I want you to stay: True agape love and an intimate relationship with God is second to none. Jeopardizing and risking experiencing that loneliness again, not happening. I want God to stay and so should you!
God is the ultimate relationship partner. Unknowingly to most, God is
everything we yearn for. Unassuming and unparalleled when it comes to love, consistency, understanding, and forgiving. I dare you to give God an unbiased, wholeheartedly, undoubtedly, and trusting chance (1John 4:16). With any relationship you get out what you put in. Go all in with God and you'll know true love.
John 14: 23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
