This post will not be used to bash men at all. (disclaimer) I feel
that plenty of women are mislead I won’t put an age on it. Reality
televison and movies along with the media are to blame. Ladies I
understand you want a good man. A caring and loving man. With a steady
career and of course the better the job the better I completely
understand. A man who provides, physically, emotionally, and financial
security. Nothing wrong with that at all. Ok lets be realisitic now. For
my sisters, there is only one Idris Elba, Will Smith, Barack Obama, and
Denzel Washington to go around. For white girls only one, Justin
Timberlake, George Clooney, and Tom Cruise. The list goes on.
Ladies you can’t take your man and compare him to another man. I have a family full of women and I have been working with plenty women lately and I hear women comparing their man to the guys lsited above. We are individuals no two people are exactly alike not even identical twins. Accept your man for who he is ladies, what happened to, “let me upgrade ya.” If he needs it make him a better man. I hate to be cliche, but behind every good man is a good woman. (Michelle Obama or Coretta Scott King) Don’t make him feel as though he has to be like this fantasy man with all of these unrealistic qualities he needs to possess. He will soon realize that he just isn’t capable of it. I wouldn’t calling it giving up but a man has to be real with himself and understand that he can’t be everything that a woman sees on television and dreams about at night.
What are you bringing to the table? This question you should ask yourself ladies. If you have high standards for you man you have to be able to match those standards. Yes you may want a successful handsome man, but are you the type of woman that man is looking for? You absolutely CAN NOT be expecting the most from a man when he can’t get the same from you. A good man will take care of a woman whom he feels is worthy.
In conclusion to all the ladies, whom all you are beautiful no matter what. If he is a man of God, a provider, protecter, someone who makes you want to be better and loves you for you and more. What’s the problem. Don’t get hung up on this imaginary image of what a man should be. All the money and good looks in the world won’t make your relationship last. Be that strong woman you are, whom your man can lean on when needed. Don’t be mislead by whats on television and the media, who knows what’s really going on behind those cameras
